Will taking supplements/probiotics or medication affect my results?
If you are on regular supplements and/or probiotics, you do not need to discontinue them for the test. It would take 2-3 weeks off of supplements and/or probiotics to determine what your native microbiome would be, but it is your decision to determine if you would like your microbiome to be tested native or supplemented. If you do not plan on stopping your supplements in the near future then you do not need to worry about discontinuing them before testing.
If you are taking probiotics for a short period of time, we recommend to stop taking them a week before collecting your stool sample.
No you do not need to stop your medications. You can still conduct the test while on your current medications.
Our product cannot be used if you took antibiotics in the last 3 months as it impacts the gut microbiome composition.
Accordingly, we recommend to start using our product only 3 months after you last took antibiotics.
